Seed IP Law Group is hosting a virtual educational panel, Discovering Careers in Patent Law and Intellectual Property, on October 28 at 12:00-1:30 p.m. PDT. The program is designed for undergraduate, graduate, business, STEM, pre-law, and law students who are interested in learning more about the range of professional pathways available in patent law and intellectual property.  

Why IP? Intellectual property can offer a stable, highly specialized career path for people who enjoy working at the intersection of ideas, innovation, technology, brands, creative work, and problem-solving. It is a niche profession with multiple entry points and practical applications across many industries.

The panel will introduce students to a variety of career pathways within the IP profession, including trademark, copyright, patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent agent roles, technical roles, and IP law firm operations. Attendees do not need prior knowledge of intellectual property or a current plan to attend law school. The presentation will focus on plain-language explanations, personal career stories, transferable skills, practical next steps, and how different backgrounds can translate into a meaningful IP career.
