Seed IP Summer Associate Suellen Camargos Focuses on a Career in Trademark Law

Seed IP proudly welcomes Suellen Carmagos as a summer associate specializing in trademark law.

Suellen is a licensed attorney in Brazil, and has 13 years of experience in litigation in her home country. In 2015, while in Brazil, she served as the Vice-President of the Women Commission for the Tocantins State Bar Association, organizing activities such as free legal assistance to women in need of legal advice in the areas of civil rights, domestic violence and governmental aid. In pursuit of her international career as an attorney, Suellen initiated her American legal studies by receiving a Paralegal Certification from Seattle Central College. She recently received her Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the University of Washington School of Law, where she served as a member of the Technology Law Society as a representative of the international students.

During the winter of 2019, Suellen served as a research assistant in trademark licensing issues at the University of Washington. In the summer of 2019, she interned for a global software company with corporate headquarters in Seattle, where she expanded her experience in trademark matters and privacy law, in the fields of facial recognition and SaaS. In the fall of 2019, Suellen joined Seed IP’s Trademark Team, and has since collaborated on trademark prosecution, trademark enforcement, and domain name matters.

Suellen is admitted to the Brazilian National Bar Association. She is a Board Member of the Washington Lawyers for the Arts, a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), a member of the Seattle Intellectual Property American Inn of Court, and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Suellen is working towards her admission to the Washington State Bar Association.
