Seed IP senior associate Thomas Shewmake authors article on litigation holds in intellectual property cases
Seed IP senior associate Thomas A. Shewmake recently wrote an article entitled, “Litigation Holds in Intellectual Property Cases," which discusses obligations to preserve relevant evidence in connection with litigation. The article discusses when a litigation hold to preserve evidence is necessary and provides practice tips for implementing a litigation hold with respect to administrative proceedings at the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

Tom focuses his practice on intellectual property enforcement, defense and litigation matters. His experience includes patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret cases spanning a wide range of industries and technologies. He received a B.S. degree in Bioengineering from the University of California–Berkeley in 2003 and an M.S. degree in Bioengineering from Arizona State University in 2008. Tom was awarded his J.D. cum laude from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2011.
