Seed IP Law Group awards its annual Founders Scholarships to two local law students focused on careers in Intellectual property
Law students Dale Berg (Seattle University School of Law) and Francis Yoon (University of Washington School of Law) were recently selected as the recipients of Seed Intellectual Property Law Group’s Founders Scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Dale Berg received a M.S. in Computer Science from University of Washington, and is currently a Juris Doctorate candidate at Seattle University School of Law.
In 2024, Francis Yoon received a B.S. in Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering from Korea University (Seoul, Republic of Korea). He anticipates receiving a M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, concurrently, in June 2027. Mr. Yoon also expects to receive his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in June 2027.
For more than 20 years, Seed IP has granted two annual scholarships to honor its founders, Richard W. Seed and Benjamin F. Berry. Seed IP awards one Founders Scholarship to a law student at the University of Washington and another at Seattle University to recognize individuals exhibiting a keen, dedicated interest in intellectual property law. "Seed IP has long benefitted from the talent of the two schools’ graduates, and we are proud to continue supporting both universities in their efforts to educate the next generation of world class intellectual property specialists," says Hayley Talbert, Seed IP’s Managing Partner.
On April 7, 2026, Seed IP Law Group hosted its annual SU/UW Attorney-Student Networking Reception. During this reception, a commemorative award certificate was presented to Dale and Francis. Many other IP law students from Seattle University School of Law and the University of Washington School of Law were also in attendance, allowing the students an opportunity to interact and network with a large number of attorneys from Seed IP Law Group.
Seed IP congratulates Dale and Francis on receiving the 2025-2026 Seed IP Law Group Founders Scholarships!
