Seed IP announces its 2024 Summer Program participants

Seed IP Law Group is excited to announce the arrival of its new summer associates and intern! This talented group brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to Seed IP, with each of the four students more than ready to dive into the world of intellectual property law. We can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish. Join us in welcoming them as they embark on a summer filled with professional growth, meaningful projects, and invaluable experiences!

Summer Intern

Lara Zhang is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Philosophy with a focus on Law and Policy, along with Economics, at Washington University in St. Louis. She brings multicultural perspective and skills in Python, Stata, Microsoft Office Suite, and an understanding of Chinese criminal and civil law. Recognized for public speaking and creative writing, Lara has received awards such as the Scholars Group Individual Writing Northern China Regional Award and Dean's List honors.

Summer Associates

Kerry Shamnoski is earning a J.D. from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, graduating in May 2025. They have served as Vice President of the Diversity Coalition and participated in the ABA Judicial Clerkship Program. Kerry holds a B.S. with High Honors in Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering from Lehigh University. Their academic journey included study abroad and leadership roles in various campus organizations.

Alexander Tranquill is pursuing a J.D. at the University of Washington School of Law, graduating in June 2026. He is a member of the Tech Law Society, Tech Policy Lab, and the Law and Business Association. Alex holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Colorado School of Mines. His interests include fly fishing, skiing, mountain biking, and golf, and he is involved with Trout Unlimited, a non-profit focused on restoring river ecosystems.

Betty Yu is pursuing a J.D. at the University of Washington School of Law, graduating in June 2026. She is involved in the Technology Law Society, Entertainment Law Society, Women’s Law Caucus, and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Betty holds a B.S. in Psychology and Communication Studies with a minor in Legal Studies from Northwestern University. She is active in volunteer work, with interests in table tennis, pop culture, and video games.
