Seed IP Partner to Speak About "Alice" at LES Vancouver, BC Event - April 10

Seed IP partner Jim Baunach is scheduled to speak at the Licensing Executives Society (LES) event on April 10, in Vancouver, BC. The program is entitled, “Responding to Patent Application Rejections Based on the U.S. Supreme Court's Alice Decision,” and the discussion will include practical strategies for responding to rejections in software-related applications under the SCOTUS decision Alice Corp. Pty. v. CLS Bank Int'l and strategies for avoiding such rejections. The event will attract lawyers, licensing professionals, tech transfer personnel, business development professionals and executives with an interest in learning about best practices for obtaining strong patents directed to software-related applications in the U.S.

Jim specializes in U.S. and foreign software and computer related matters including patent procurement, prosecution, and strategic portfolio management. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Portland and holds a J.D. from Willamette University College of Law, where he received the Dean's High Paper Award in Patent Law and Policy.
