Two law students awarded Seed IP Law Group Founders Scholarships for academic year 2023-2024

Law students Maddison Anne Tollett (Seattle University School of Law) and Jonathan (Zhaoqing) Yang (University of Washington School of Law) were recently selected as the recipients of Seed Intellectual Property Law Group’s Founders Scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. In 2021, Maddison received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (cum laude) from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. She is expected to receive her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in May 2024. In 2023, Jonathan received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Data Science (cum laude) from University of Washington. He anticipates receiving his J.D. from University of Washington School of Law in June 2026.

In 2003, Seed IP Law Group created two scholarships to honor its founders, Richard W. Seed and Benjamin F. Berry. Seed IP Law Group’s Founders Scholarships are awarded annually to students at the University of Washington and Seattle University Schools of Law to recognize outstanding students with a keen interest in intellectual property law. "Seed IP values and appreciates the talent and quality of the graduates we recruit from the University of Washington and Seattle University law schools, and we are proud to continue supporting both universities in their efforts to develop world class intellectual property specialists," says Kevin S. Costanza, Seed IP’s Managing Partner.

On April 17, 2024, Seed IP Law Group will host in its office the annual SU/UW Attorney-Student Networking Reception. During this reception, a commemorative award certificate will be presented to Maddison and Jonathan. Many other IP law students from Seattle University School of Law and University of Washington School of Law will also be in attendance, allowing the students an opportunity to interact and network with a large number of attorneys from Seed IP Law Group.

Seed IP congratulates Maddison and Jonathan on being the recipients of the 2023-2024 Seed IP Law Group Founders Scholarships!
