Mark Rogel specializes in domestic and foreign patent prosecution
of biotechnology and microbiology matters, and in strategic
patent portfolio management. He received his B.S. (cum laude)
in Microbiology from the University of Washington in 1994,
and was awarded his J.D. from the University of Washington
School of Law in 2007.
Prior to joining Seed IP Law Group, Mark served
as a legal extern for Labor and Industries Division of the
Office of the Attorney General of the State of Washington.
Mark also has extensive experience as a researcher in a preeminent
molecular virology laboratory at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer
Research Center in Seattle, where he managed several independent
research projects that focused on the molecular biology of
human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Mark’s research
ranged from determining the role of auxiliary genes in the
viral life cycle to studying the roles of various immune cells,
including dendritic cells, in viral transfer. Mark has written
or co-authored multiple research papers that have been published
in several different peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Mark is admitted to the Washington State Bar. He is a member
of the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington Biotechnology
and Biomedical Association, and the Washington State Patent
Law Association.
